MoMo meets University and FHWien showcase new mobile marketing ideas in front of Henkel, Egger & Co

How can you sell more Persil to young men with the help of an iPhone or attract more customers for a CITROËN retailer? Students of Marketing- and Salesmangement of FHWien presented their fresh ideas for reaching customers via a mobile phone at a special edition of MobileMonday. Six groups introduced their sophisticated concepts in front of marketing professionals from companies like Henkel, Egger, SevenOne Media, CITROËN and dm Drogeriemarkt.

Convincing Augmented Reality concept for CITROËN

Each team had six minutes to present their project report, which was part of the “Mobile Marketing” course held this semester. The Mobile Marketing Association Austria (MMAA) and FHWien teamed up to offer students not only an comprehensive introduction into Mobile Marketing but also an education in step with actual practice.

“Team dm” recruited trainees with a mobile finder for apprenticeship positions on Nokia phones, whereas “Team CITROËN hit bull’s eye with their innovative augmented reality application. “We already discussed the presented concept internally”, revealed Peter Christ from the marketing department CITROËN Austria.

Top Quality: On par with professional agencies

Improving the image of Egger Bier led a group of students to develop a contest containing mobile promotion of Egger Bier through social media channels. “Team Persil” on the other hand eased young men’s life by offering a stain guide and how to get rid of them. Peter Christ was excited: “Each of the six teams presented at MobileMonday showed concepts on a top level on par with new-media agencies.” However, only one team could win the prize of the evening: After lively discussions with the audience, the winner of the evening was chosen via SMS voting.

“iParent” for Pampers the winner of the evening

The students group “Team papers” convinced the audience with a concpet of mobile application called “iParent” which helps young parents during pregnancy and the first months with their baby. The winner team received six crates of beer for their next student party.
